Jesse “Mr. B”
Educator, Tutor, Writer, and Speaker
ABOUT
Jesse holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder and is passionate about building effective and efficient tools for understanding and learning; and leveraging those tools to empower students to grow as scholars and humans.
He currently teachers 9th grade in Denver Public Schools. He has previously managed retail stores and lead youth programs. Jesse founded Anchor Tutors to begin a journey towards improving education, finding ways to help families succeed, and giving back to the community.
As an educator, literacy specialist, and academic coach with experience teaching and supporting students across middle school, high school, college, and adult learning settings. His work has focused on literacy development, writing instruction, English language learning, and helping students build the skills and confidence they need to thrive academically.
As both an educator and doctoral student in Literacy Studies, he brings research-based practices and real-world teaching experience into every coaching relationship. I believe that strong literacy skills open doors to opportunity, and is passionate about helping learners become confident readers, writers, thinkers, and communicators.
Whether working with a student who needs support in school, an English learner developing language skills, or a college student refining academic writing, the goal is always the same: to provide thoughtful, personalized guidance that helps learners grow with confidence and independence.
Jesse founded Anchor Tutors because he wanted to create a learning environment where students receive more than academic assistance. They receive encouragement, individualized support, and a trusted partner in their educational journey.
